What equipment do I need to bring with me?

Your most important item is, of course, a pair of comfortable walking boots with ankle support and a sole that provides grip as some of the terrain can be rugged and loose underfoot. It can be cold – especially high in the mountains – so you should bring some warm clothing, particularly in early Spring and late Autumn. We suggest bringing a walking pole if possible although we do have some we can lend you.

And, just in case . . . a lightweight waterproof. We hope you won’t need it. Mostly we will be walking in dry weather and  warm sunshine, so casual, comfortable, summer clothes will generally suffice. A hat and sun protection cream is essential. A small rucksack for carrying lunch is also recommended and you might consider a walking pole. Also a small lunch box would be useful.

What type of accommodation will i stay in?

The houses are typical Spanish village houses or an hotel in the village. The houses are modernised, are well equipped with good bathroom facilities. They are equipped with fully fitted kitchens, hairdryers, heaters and fans.

Is there internet access in the village?

There is all day fre Wi-Fi access at the bars & restaurants in the Torrox Plaza.

Are there many single people on your holidays?

We particularly welcome single people on our friendly and inclusive tours. Everyone soon makes new friends!

What is the average age of people who go on your holidays?

We have guests of varying ages on our holidays. Guests must be 18 or over.

Are vegetarians catered for?

Yes.  We provide a delicious salad and fresh fruit with all our picnics. Other dietary requirements are also catered for and we ask that you advise us on making your booking.

Can I bring along somebody who does not wish to walk?

Certainly, and we will provide full information about places to visit, shopping etc.

Can I stay for extra days?

Yes, provided we are given sufficient notice and subject to availability. Transfers to the airport will then be arranged via private taxi or bus to be paid for by the guest.

Can I pay in euros/dollars?

Payment is by  bank transfer or debit/credit card through Paypal….3 % via Paypal.. There is a 3% surcharge for debit/credit card payments. We can certainly arrange for you to pay in euros, dollars, and most other currencies.

Is there internet access in the houses?

Not usually. Free wifi is available in the restaurants and bars in the Plaza.

Do I have to be fit?

You will need to be reasonably fit as there are ascents and descents involved on every walk. Our walks are hill walks. All our walks are graded moderate to hard . Please contact us for more advice.

What happens if there are adverse weather conditions?

In the event of adverse conditions (caused by the weather or other forces outside our control) and which are deemed by the Walk Leader to make an outdoor activity unsafe,  Walk Andalucia reserve the right to suspend or cancel that day’s activity with or without advance notice. Such conditions may include the threat of lightning, thunder or extreme heat.  Wherever possible advance warning of such a suspension/cancellation will be given to each house by means of a text message to a pre-arranged mobile phone.

If the day’s activity has to be suspended or cancelled the Walk Leader will similarly advise an alternative programme for the day.

The decision to vary the programme or suspend/cancel activity will be made by the Walk Leaders.

What happens if I injure myself on a walk?

Our guides are trained Emergency First Responders. They also carry mobile telephones so that help can be contacted if necessary.

What is the Breakfast Pack?

The breakfast pack contains butter, coffee, milk, jam, cereal and juice. There is sufficient food for a breakfast each day but if you need to then do purchase extra in the village shops…or….treat yourself to eggs and coffee in the La Plaza restaurant.
