Day 2: Frigiliana & Cruz Pinto – Grading 2
7 km (4.5 miles) / 1350 ft / 4 - 4.5 hrs
Circular walk starting from picturesque white village of Frigiliana. Mountain stream, steep pine covered ridges, rugged footpath, sea views and a monument with a story. Opportunity to explore the scenic village (or relax in a cafe....).
Evening : Banquet by Ollie at Finca La Paz with hosts.
Day 3: Atalaya and Buddhist Stupa – Grading 3
10 Km (6.25 Miles) / 1950 feet
Climb through avocado and mango plantations via ruined farmhouse and ancient olive groves to Moorish Atalaya (Warning Tower). Views of Lake Vinuela, La Maroma and white Andalucia villages develop as you climb. Visit charming Buddhist Stupa (one of only 4 of t his design in the world), picnic among almond groves.

Day 4: Acebuchal & Venta Panaderos
13.25 Km (8.25m/ 1350feet / 4.5 – 5.5hrs
Walk from Acebuchal, a tiny and until recently deserted village, through wild countryside and soaring peaks to the source of the River Higueron, at the foot of El Lucero, the most recognisable peak in the Sierra Almijara. The walk retraces the footsteps of the Maquis (anti-Franco guerrillas), including a visit to the ruins of an inn used by both parties. Mostly stone track, with few steep climbs.
